Little Update

Hey Everyone

This is a little update. In the last week 652 people have downloaded Was It Worth It app and www.eveningscode.com has received about 3000 unique visits. I am quite amazed to be honest.

Moving forward I am planning on releasing an update in the next couple of months based on the fantastic feedback I got from people. One of the really needed features is an all graphical overview of your projects. Then there are a few other things that need to be addressed (grouping things in the list, perhaps tags instead of categories, etc). More about all of this in the future.

Anyhow, have fun with the app and do send feedback/comments if you have any.

Was It Worth it 1.0 Sketches

So here’s how it all began. Back in 2009 I was freelancing as a graphic/multimedia designer. I was thinking about how the projects I take on influence me both professionally and personally (where are I was, where did I want to be, and so on). There seemed to be projects that were lots of fun, but brought no money and others with nice pay, but often not so much fun. Some challenged me to learn new things or find new approaches and others didn't.

Having learned Processing the year before I decided to make an application where I could add projects and some basic info (name, date, type) and evaluate them by three criteria - Fun, Knowledge and Money. It would then show me a beautiful graph of what my working trends are. And so the first Was It Worth It application was born…

The beautiful and fun application has been approved by Apple today. It shouldn't take long now (they say max 24 hours) before you can download it.
